RAIPUR/MUMBAI(INDIA): Chhattisgarh is quickly gaining attention as a promising location for investment in sectors like textiles, tourism, and healthcare. During his visit to Mumbai on Wednesday, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with several well-known industrialists and business representatives from across India and abroad to discuss opportunities in these areas.
At the meeting, companies expressed a strong interest in setting up operations in Chhattisgarh, encouraged by the state's new industrial policy for 2024–30. The Chief Minister assured the attendees that the state offers affordable electricity, a skilled workforce, suitable land, and efficient logistics. He said that the government is ready to support investors at every step and is committed to making Chhattisgarh an ideal place to do business.
A representative from an online fashion brand called Size Up shared plans to set up a plus-size clothing manufacturing unit. INBD Tax showed interest in establishing an apparel unit in Nawa Raipur and said they would need 3 to 5 acres of land. Another company, Swift Merchandise, also showed enthusiasm for investing in the textile sector. The Lalan Group from Sri Lanka praised Chhattisgarh’s policies and expressed a desire to set up a thread and textile production unit.
In the healthcare sector, the director of Shalby Hospital said they would like to open a multi-specialty hospital in Nawa Raipur. The Chief Minister welcomed this idea and spoke about the state’s focus on infrastructure development and investment in health services.
Tourism was another key area of discussion. A business leader from the Araiya Group spoke about his company’s interest in connecting Chhattisgarh’s natural beauty with global luxury tourism, and mentioned plans for long-term investment in the state’s tourism and transportation sectors. The Pride Hotels group also showed interest in expanding their hospitality services in Chhattisgarh, taking advantage of the state’s growing tourism infrastructure.
In the field of industry and manufacturing, the director of Greentech Solutions proposed building a large steel plant in the state at an estimated cost of ₹1245 crore. The project is expected to create more than 500 jobs, and the company plans to use environmentally friendly technologies to keep the costs low and the process sustainable.
Chief Minister Sai told the gathering that Chhattisgarh has now become one of the best states in India for investment. He said the government’s policies are simple, transparent, and designed to benefit businesses. With no shortage of resources or infrastructure, Chhattisgarh is ready to welcome new industries and investors looking for long-term opportunities.
