Chhattisgarh: Infighting comes to fore in BJP organisation polls

RAIPUR: The tussle between the key leaders and their followers of Bhilai-Durg, Kanker, Sarguja has emerged in the BJP organisation elections underway in the state. As per reports, the elections of organisations was to be completed by November but in some districts it has been delayed.

Party insiders said that the followers of BJP national general secretary Saroj Pandey, former minister Prem Prakash Pandey and Member of Parliament from Durg Vijay Baghel had reportedly disrupted the polling process.

BJP State organisation election officer Rampratap Singh on the issue said that the complaints have been received where Durg MP Vijay Baghel and former minister Prem Prakash Pandey has registered their complaint. They had also held a meeting at Durg and Bhilai. Singh said the Durg-Bhilai organisation election irregularities will be probed.

Singh claimed that the organisation polls in other parts of state are going smoothly. State Election Officer claimed that out of the 405 divisions, election has been completed in 300 divisions. In maximum region, the election has been held through consensus candidate.

He pointed out at Durg also no major issue has cropped up while the election has been held. Election was held in 13 divisions which was normal. Bhilai has faced some problem which is being looked into.
