Chhattisgarh: Liquor outlets, restaurants closure extended till March 31

In wake of the preventive measures undertaken by Government of Chhattisgarh for the control and prevention of spread of coronavirus and lock-down, Excise department had order the closure of country-made, Indian Made Foreign Liquor outlets and shops till March 25, which has now been extended to March 31. Similarly, the closure of restaurants/hotel bars will also remain closed till March 31.

As per order issued by Mariyanus Tigga, Additional secretary, Commercial Tax (Excise) department, Government of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, the earlier order for closure of country made and IMFL liquor shops, Chhattisgarh State Beverages Corporation godowns (Raipur/Bilaspur) and district level country made liquor storage centres were directed for closure till March 25.

The order states had under provisions of Chhattisgarh Excise Act, 1915 section 24, sub section (1), till further order all the outlets, godowns and storage centres will remain closed till March 31, 2020. All the excise department officials have been directed to implement the order with stern hand.

In another order, all the restaurants/hotel bars will also remain closed till March 31 across the state. Earlier, the date of closure was till March 25, which has been extended to March 31.
