RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said children and senior citizens are more prone to the infection. They need to be more careful. Visitors should compulsorily wear masks and practice physical distancing. Sanitizers should be used often and hands should be washed with soap regularly. Baghel was speaking to the senior citizens in old age homes of seven districts of state via video conferencing on Thursday.
Chief Minister said that the guidelines issued by State Government for prevention of corona infection are being followed by people. It has helped in containment of the infection to a greater extent in Chhattisgarh, states the official communication on the interaction.
He sought details of the facilities being extended to senior citizens in old age homes. “The global pandemic has transformed our daily routine, and the most important need of the hour is to stay safe,” he stated.
During interaction, official communication states Poornima Thawait, inmate of Dev Samiti Janjgir during interaction said of living at the centre for last 15 years and her family members visit her on regular basis. She extended invitation to Chief Minister to personally visit the old age home.
On queries made by Chief Minister, the inmates of other old age homes told that facilities available are up to the mark. Doctors make regular visit for their medical checkup. They do not have problems with employees of old age homes. They are being given food and medicines on time.
The senior citizens were elated to speak to Chief Minister, thanking him and extended blessings.
Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Anila Bhendiya, Department Secretary Prasanna R and Director P Dayanand was also present.
