ORCHA: The visit of Director, health and family welfare and Mission Director, National Health Mission, Dr Priyanka Shukla with her team to the remotest areas of Orcha block of Narayanpur district on Sunday had generated positive environment in these areas.
Orcha Block Medical Officer Dr B. N. Bhanpuriya said, during his 27 years of working in the area, for first time any officer to the rank of Director from health department had arrived. He added that the visit has boosted the morale of the health workers in the area.
The official statement issued on visited stated that Dr Shukla and team visited Primary Health Centre, Dhaudai, Chote Donger and Dhanora. The last stop was Community Health Centre, Orcha.
The team reviewed the out-patient department, in-patient department, delivery services, laboratory services and others in detail. The team suggested for enhancing the services. Dr Priyanka Shukla herself checked the slides of blood samples of malaria patients.
The statement adds that Dr Shukla motivated Dr Sukhram Dorpa, working with health centre as he hails from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) Madia community from Orcha block.
Mission director also reviewed the ‘Malaria Free Bastar’ drive. It was intimated that under the drive in Orcha block 25,319 persons have been tested out of which 2,937 were found positive. All the positive are being provided immediate treatment.
On Saturday, Mission Director had reviewed the government schemes in detail at the office of Narayanpur Collector. She accessed the malaria and Covid-19 pandemic related issues. She is secretary-in-charge of Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts.
