KORBA: When the new generation power plants are struggling to get the momentum, station like NTPC Korba is serving the country after 37 years of continuous services and achieving new heights in power production. During lock down period, when the country was staying inside the four walls, being in the essential services all stations of Chhhattisgarh were generating electricity to fulfill the energy need of country.
Since 25th March to 10th July 2020, NTPC Korba generated 6486.02 million units with 96.24 percent plant load factor (PLF) and achieved top position in all NTPC stations and stood second best power station in the country. Installed capacity of Korba station is 2600 mega watt (200×3 + 500×4). Apart from Chhattisgarh, NTPC Korba is illuminating Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Goa, Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Karnatak, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. For this achievement Ashwini Kumar Tripathy, Executive Director, NTPC Korba gave all credit to the untiring effort of employees and timely maintenance of all units.
