Chhattisgarh: SECR gets Rs 3302.72 crores budgetary allocation

BILASPUR: South East Central Railway has being undertaking several infrastructure related development works including laying of new railway tracks, doubling, tripling and fourth railway track on war-footing, across three divisions.

For the last 4-5 years, schemes like Jabalpur-Gondia gauge conversion project, Chindwada-Nagpur gauge conversion, Patansongi-Kelod, Itwari-Patansongi and Kelod-Bhimlagondi 92 kilometres broad gauge work has been completed.

The doubling, tripling and fourth line construction is taken up at Kirodimalnagar-Raigarh, Raigarh-Jamga, Champa-Saragaon and Champa-Saragaon fourth line, Pendra Road-Khodri 58.9 kilometres, thus total 151 kilometres construction works have been completed.

Additional to it, under Bilaspur-Urkura doubling work (110 km) complete, Rajnandgaon-Nagpur third line 50 km, Slakaroad- Khongsara -26 km complete, Bilaspur Jharsuguda fourth line 153 km in progress, Durg-Rajnandgaon third line 31 km, Pendra road-Annuppur third line 18 km, Khodri-Annuppur 29 km in progress, Gevra Road-Pendra Road new line 135 km, Champa-Jharsuguda 3rd line 99 km in progress, Kendri-Dhamtari gauge conversion 67 km is in progress.

The new lines projects work in progress are Dallirajhara-Jagdalpur (Gudum, Bhanupratappur and Keoti 44 km complete) 235 kim, Kharisa-Baloda Bazar-Naya Raipur-Durg project 266 km, Kharisa-Dharamjaigarh project 102 km, Dongergarh-Khairagarh-Kawardha-Katghora project 277 km, Gevra road-Pendra Road 135 km project, Dharamjaigarh-Korba project 63 km, Bharvadih-Chirmiri 105 km, Chirmiri-Nagpur Halt project 11 km and Mandir Hasaud-Kendri new line 20 km.

Due to these projects, several trains had to be cancelled while the passengers cooperated with Railways. The train timing has attained 97% accuracy while on September 1, SECR has attained 100% ranking on September 1 as compared to other railway zones.
