Chhattisgarh: First time polling held at Naxal area of Kuamari

KONDAGAON: In Keshkal and Baderajpur blocks of Kondagaon district, the third phase of three-tier Panchayat polling was peaceful as polling was held at Zila Panchayat 4, 33 Janpad Panchayat 33 and 111 Gram Panchayat.
In Baderajpur block in two Zila Panchayat has 6 candidates, 17 Janpad Panchayat 48 candidates and 46 Gram Panchayat 152 candidates are in fray while in Keshkal block two Zila Panchayat 6 candidates, 16 Janpad Panchayat 57 candidates while in one Janpad Panchayat set candidates has been elected unanimously while in 62 Gram Panchayat 219 candidates are in fray while already in 6 Gram Panchayat candidates have been elected unopposed. Till 3.00 pm at Baderajpur 81.27% polling while in Keshkal block 77% polling was recorded.
Differently able candidates also registered their presence in voting where administration has made special arrangement for it. In Keshkal block at village Dohlapara one differently able woman had arrived to cast vote. Her name is Urmila Jain, 45 years had studied till 10th but when other family members used to cast vote, motivates to register the franchise. No government benefits including differently able pension is yet to be received.
In village Kuamari, highly sensitive polling booth number 39, Returning officer Rakesh Sahu said for years together no polling was held in the polling booth under Keshkal block due to naxal infestation. Every time the polling centres area were also shifted but two polling booths were made and tight security was provided by police and administration, resulting in polling for first time.
