Chhattisgarh: Cultural programmes at Traditional ‘Faagun Madai’ centre of attraction for people of rural areas

RAIPUR

Thousands of people are turning up at Chhattisgarh’s traditional ‘Faagun Madai’ to enjoy watching the cultural programmes being held there. Not only people of rural areas but foreign tourists also come all the way to Madai Mela to witness the cultural extravaganza.

Villagers actively participate in the Madai of District headquaters Dantewada. This is one of the major fairs held in Chhattisgarh state, wherein villagers enjoy ‘Bastariya Naat’ performance at Mendka Dobra ground. On the occasion, Public Relations Department had put up a photo exhibition, wherein highlights of various development works and glimpses of Governor Ms Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s Dantewada tour. Health Department had also put up a health camp at the fair to provide health check up facility and free medicines to villagers.
